Project overview

ScoreMJ is a closed-source scoring platform for in-person Riichi Mahjong communities. It supports game creation, online scoring, result aggregation, and league information, and is currently used by three US Riichi Mahjong clubs.

I joined the project in March 2025 and am currently its third contributor. I am not the project lead; my work includes maintaining the existing full-stack code, fixing bugs, updating form fields, and improving UI and product copy.

Broadcast tools

In May 2026, I independently refreshed the SwitchStream broadcast display and delivered the full-stack StreamModerate control module. Broadcast staff update match information from the Moderate surface, while SwitchStream polls for the latest state every two seconds and refreshes the broadcast overlay.

The project uses React, RedwoodJS—now Redwood GraphQL—GraphQL, Material UI, and AWS. I also used Antigravity during the broadcast-tool work to support task decomposition, implementation, and change review.

Public use and limitations

The broadcast workflow made its public debut at Pro Ama Finals and validated the end-to-end path from operator updates to the stream overlay. It also revealed meaningful operational constraints: the workflow is complex and requires at least two broadcast staff members. It has not moved into everyday streaming or a formal training program, and the team is still exploring ways to reduce its operating cost.
